I captured the moment just after a small "altercation" that ignited the Rupp crowd.

As the players headed to the sideline and officials huddled, the guys hooked their arms around one another. It speaks volumes about the unity they have developed and their support and protection of one another. It is one of my favorite shots of the season so far. Thank you for all of your kind comments.

Rest assured: Jarnell Stokes has learned the team stretch

Jimmy Dykes can rest a bit easier now that Jarnell Stokes has indeed learned the team stretch. I can see why the ballet-like maneuvers might have been problematic for a newcomer. lol

After having multiple shots blocked in UT's 69-44 loss to No. 1 Kentucky, Stokes said he was humbled and upset. He drew the ire of Kentucky fans this week by telling GoVolsXtra.com, "It definitely made me more hungry. I definitely wanted to win,'' he said. "If anything, I want to win at Rupp Arena. I plan on winning, before I leave, at Rupp Arena. I'm saying that on the record right now. It made me more hungry and made me dislike Kentucky more.''

I thought the majority of fans in Rupp appeared curious and respectful of Stokes during the game and people seemed genuinely excited to see him in action. I'm guessing his return to Rupp Arena will not be as cordial!

Nike Hyper Elite Platinum Uniforms

This was one of my favorite shots from the UK/TN game. I love watching the bond forming between these guys and seeing them stand up for one another.

Kentucky also unveiled new Nike Hyper Elite Platinum Uniforms and everyone clamored to get a view of them during warmups. I didn't care for these before the game, but after looking through all the photos and seeing them in person, I love the uniforms. They looked great in Rupp. If they play like that, our guys can make any uniform look good especially when it says Kentucky across the chest!

The uniforms will be worn by nine of the nation's top college basketball teams in select games this season.

Kentucky vs. Arkansas

Anthony Davis breaks Kentucky's single season block record with block #84.

I love this postgame quote from Arkansas guard Mardracus Wade speaking about Davis: "I remember one time he just told his guys, `Just bring him in here, I'm going to block everything."'

"I didn't even know how many blocks I had," Davis said. "I can't keep up, the game goes so fast. I just want to block every shot." Davis scored a career-high 27 points and blocked seven shots against Arkansas.

UK vs. Loyola (MD)

I enjoyed shooting my third game from the Rupp floor for Walter's Wildcat World. If the Greyhounds were the least bit intimidated by the Cats and atmosphere, they didn't show it. They were scrappy and tough, even mixing it up with my boy Eloy at one point. I was heading back to the floor at the end of halftime when the door opened to the Loyola locker room. As the players filed out, I heard one say, "Are we going to do this? Are we doing to do this?" They were strong-willed and had a lot of fire. I could respect that, especially coming into Rupp and playing the third-ranked team in the nation. They only trailed 6 at the half, but the Cats quickly took control and went on to win 87-63.

During halftime, Gov. Steve Beshear joined Kentucky fans in the presentation of a valorous unit award streamer to soldiers of the 201st Engineer Battalion. These brave individuals were credited with disposing of more than 200,000 land mines and IED's in Afghanistan. The ceremony was very moving and the Kentucky fans showed their appreciation by standing and cheering until the last soldier marched off the floor.

Basketball Shoot Take 2: UK vs. Samford

I shot my second UK game on Tuesday when Kentucky played Samford at Rupp. I felt a little more comfortable arriving this time around since I knew where everything was and most of the procedures. Some media outlets have reserved spots to shoot from on the floor. I could go to any of the spots marked open and for this game there were only a couple available in the first row. These spots get snatched up pretty quickly so you have to get there early to mark your territory. I ended up in the back photo row for the first half, but snagged a front row spot for the second with a little guidance and kindness from a fellow photographer. Of course we were on defense on that end by this time, but I was happy to shoot unobstructed. I should say relatively unobstructed because it seems the referees have a love affair with the front of my lens. I am learning positioning is half the battle when under the basket.

Shooting between shoulders and around refs. created more of a challenge this time. In the end we got the shots we needed to go along with the copy and for the gallery on the website and called it a success. It certainly was not my finest hour. Something was just off for most of the game and I could never get into the swing of things while shooting. Fortunately I get a chance to do it all again on Thursday.

This is my first year shooting collegiate basketball. I have primarily shot baseball in the past. Basketball is a whole different animal. Hats off to those who create such high quality images game in and game out. I love this blog post by Scott Kelby about his experience shooting a college basketball game. I can definitely relate after this game.

My Lame College Basketball Shoot

Once the game was finished, I headed to the media area where the post-game presser is held. After hearing from the coaches, the locker room was opened up for player interviews.

It was nice sitting with Walter and having the chance to watch how he processes all of the photos and information after the game. It amazes me how quickly the hard working people at UK Athletics gather the stats, quotes and other information and get copies out to all of the media. Everything works like a well-oiled machine and I find it all fascinating. I guess I should chalk this up to my rookie status, because everyone around me seemed to look so bored with it all. ha

A huge thank you to DeWayne Peevy and Walter Cornett for the opportunity. It is a dream come true to combine two of my greatest loves and shoot from the floor of Rupp. It has been an unbelievable learning experience.

After a bit of a slow start, the 10th ranked Wildcats rallied in the second half to defeat No. 6 Duke 72-65. The win gives Kentucky its first-ever back-to-back wins over top ten opponents. Tonight's crowd of 14, 508 set a record as the largest attendance in women's program history!

UK Hoops Crushes Rival Cards

UK Hoops dominated archrival Louisville on Sunday, much to the delight of the 7,951 exuberant fans in attendance. The total marked the 6th largest crowd in Memorial Coliseum history.

It was obvious this was a big rivalry game before even entering the building. As I rounded the corner towards the entrance, I saw 5 large buses with Cards fans spilling out in a sea of red. As I hurried past them, I did my traditional good luck touch of the SEC All-Americans wall. Almost on cue as my hand hit Big Cuz, a C-A-R-D-S cheer broke out in the line. Gotta hand it to Louisville's fans, they rolled in deep and loud. To see them chanting though while entering our house was just disrespectful. I couldn't wait to see them running for the buses at the end of the game!

Led by junior A'dia Mathies, the Cats jumped to an early lead and never looked back, beating down the 10th ranked Lady Dirty Birds 74-54.

Kentucky moved up two spots in the AP Poll to #10 after the win over Louisville. The Cards dropped to #13. The Cats will have little time to rest and celebrate the win, as #6 Duke rolls into town on Thursday. The game will be played at Rupp Arena and tickets are still available.

UK vs. UT Volleyball SEC Championship Match

I'll have more on this and a full slideshow up soon, but I wanted to share a few images from last night's UK vs. UT volleyball match. With a share of the SEC title on the line, these ladies came out swinging. It was obvious how much both teams wanted it. The intensity level as they traded point for point was unbelievable. The Cats fell a little short of their goal, but have had an amazing season and we are so proud of their effort. They will be a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA tournament.

I have no love for the Orange, but congratulations to the Lady Vols on their hard-fought victory and SEC championship.

UK Hoops vs. JSU

No, that is not a mistake. In a game reminiscent of the men's beatdown of Morehouse, the Lady Cats rolled over Jacksonville State University 100-25. The Cats forced a women's basketball school record 48 turnovers. They also tied a school record with only 25 points allowed. A packed house full of Fayette County sixth graders made for an exciting atmosphere, especially as Bernisha Pinkett went to the line to pass the century mark. She made the second shot and helped lead the Cats with 18 points in the game.

The UK Dance Team with Jenna Mitchell, wife of Coach Matthew Mitchell, and new baby daughter.

UK Hoops unofficially opened the season today with an exhibition game against Coker College at Memorial Coliseum. It was nice to see former Kentucky standout and Coker head coach Jenny (Pfeiffer) Finora. The Cats won 86-44 thanks in part to 45 points off of 40 turnovers.

I had the opportunity to shoot the Blue-White scrimmage thanks to my friends over at Kentucky Wild-cast . It was my first time having credentials at Rupp Arena. What an experience! I would like to thank Brian, DeWayne Peevy, and all those who were kind enough to offer advice and help show me the ropes down on the floor. I learned so much. Just an amazing experience all around. Hopefully I will get a chance to do it again soon.

Big Blue Madness 2011

With 23,000+ cheering on and a laser light show to rival any rock concert, the Kentucky basketball season got off to a much anticipated start last night in Lexington. This year's Madness had everything from exploding pyrotechnics, cheerleaders, dancers, clouds of smoke, heart-pounding music, and a moon-walking coach. We had special appearances by our locked-out "UK in the NBA" pros and even a LeBron James infomercial thrown in. We stood in awe as a new Final Four banner unfurled from Rupp's rafters, got a glimpse of the "NextCats" and even got a chance to watch a little basketball.

So Coach Cal's sermon went a little long and the lighting during the scrimmages was worse than the Pros game at the Chicken Bucket, but all in all it was a great night. For the many that camped out for tickets and the thousands more who helped sell out Rupp online in less than an hour, it is not about the glitz and the glamour. It is about getting together to celebrate with those who understand, without any explanation necessary, the passion that is Kentucky basketball. It is a chance to give the team a memory of unbridled support and encouragement to fall back on and lift them up when the going gets rough. Thanks to the miracle of television and the internet, the whole world gets a chance to feel the Kentucky Effect and see what it means to say...We are UK!

Kentucky Volleyball

Kentucky Volleyball is on fire, winning 12 straight sets in their last 4 matches. On a balmy night in Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, the Cats captured the Kentucky Classic tournament with a three-set sweep of Virginia Tech. Junior libero Stephanie Klefot earned MVP honors for her star performance in the tourney and was later named SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Kentucky earned its fourth consecutive sweep last night over in-state rival Louisville, marking UK's first sweep of the Cards since 1988. UK Athletics is a combined 16-2-1 so far this fall. Go Cats! #WeAreUK

UK Volleyball vs. Cincinnati

The Kentucky women's volleyball team held its home opener last night at Memorial Coliseum. It wasn't the start the Cats expected, falling to Cincinnati 25-20, 25-19 and 25-13. Kentucky hit .070 and committed 40 errors in the match. The last time the Cats lost a home opener was in 2002 against Alabama.

Tuesday's contest marked the first of 10 straight home matches. The Wildcats will host the Kentucky Classic on Friday and Saturday at Memorial. Friday's match against Western Kentucky begins at 7p.m.

If you have ever been in Memorial in the summer, you know it is a sauna. I would like to thank those responsible for the 4 new fans installed by Big Ass Fans. They really move some air and will be greatly appreciated by fans and the student-athletes using the facility.

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of days at the DeMarcus Cousins Elite Skills Camp held at KBA in Lexington this week. DeMarcus' playful nature really helps him connect with kids. They chant his name and gang up on him, often trying to wrestle him to the ground. I have noticed many people asking if DeMarcus was really at the camp and involved. He definitely was. He was there every day, very hands-on running drills and playing games with the campers. He even held a dunk contest with former Wildcat Perry Stevenson at the urging of the kids. Perry was kind enough to give instruction at the camp this week and did a fantastic job with the campers.

I am always amazed at how DeMarcus handles his fans. Even though it was announced several times that Cuz was there to teach the kids, he never hesitated to pose for a picture or to stop and give an autograph. I lost count, but I can only imagine how many times he is asked to do this in a given day while visiting Kentucky. He is always polite and gives that big grin over and over again.

My little Wildcat didn't participate as a camper, but when he found out he would be visiting camp he drew a picture of DeMarcus.

He waited patiently to turn his artwork over. DeMarcus looked at the picture, laughed and then stared at it for a minute. Like so many kids at camp, "Big Cuz" made his day with a simple gesture. It is just one of the numerous stories I have heard from camp of how DeMarcus managed to make a kid feel special in a sea of so many.

During his closing remarks, DeMarcus told the campers, "The sky's the limit." To these kids he is a role model and larger than life. I hope he carries their respect and admiration with him and continues living his life in a way that will inspire them well beyond their days at camp.

A huge thank you to Andrew Rogers. It is nice to see DeMarcus surrounds himself with so many good people. True professionals #TeamCousins

UK women's basketball Coach Matthew Mitchell and UK assistant men’s basketball Coach Orlando Antigua took on former Wildcat Josh “Jorts” Harrellson and Kyle Macy of the ’78 NCAA champs tonight at the Boone Tennis Complex. The event was part of Big Blue Night at the Fifth Third Tennis Championships. Lots of laughs, but the highlight of my night was saying hello to former basketball coach Joe B. Hall!

There is nothing like the promise of a new season, and nowhere is the anticipation greater than here in Kentucky. Other than Big Blue Madness, this was our first look at the new Cats last season. Who could have predicted at that moment that Josh Harrellson would pull off such a transformation and become a Kentucky legend? It would have been almost unfathomable to those present that Liggins would become one of the best defenders in basketball and both he and Jorts would hear their names called in the NBA Draft. Many would have guessed this would be the only season we would get to see Terrence Jones in Blue, but to the surprise of many, he decided to return to help Kentucky seek #8. As the new Wildcats get settled in, our thoughts once again turn to the season ahead. Will this team be the one to lead us to the Championship? Will the group of top recruits Coach Cal has assembled live up to their potential and the monstrous expectations we place upon them? Only time will tell. Let the countdown to Madness begin!

NCAA Super Regional

Kentucky advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time in school history, defeating Michigan for the Regional Title. The Cats hosted the Super Regional this weekend at the University of Kentucky Softball Complex. Additional bleachers were added and the whole complex received a quick makeover. The event sold out in a day, showing the outpouring of support from the community. Kentucky took the second game, but lost the series to the Cal Golden Bears. Congratulations Cats on your historic season!

Kings vs. Pacers

I took a road trip to Indy this weekend to see my favorite former Wildcat, DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings were in town to take on the Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse. Conseco is a very impressive venue, but it seemed to lack the spirit of a place like Rupp Arena. I was reminded of a quote from last year's ESPN Gameday visit:

"When you walk into Rupp Arena, the tradition consumes you...

A record crowd with off-the-chart emotion for their beloved Wildcats."

I was happy to see Cuz and the Kings, but was surprised to find myself a little bored. Not with DeMarcus and the Kings, but with the environment and mood of the crowd in general. Maybe it was being the away team on hostile turf or my extreme distaste for anything remotely related to ManningFace, but it did get me thinking about the rebuild/remodel Rupp debate. Yes Conseco is a spectacular arena full of every creature comfort, but the last time I was in Rupp for some UK basketball, I don't remember thinking, "If we only had a Starbucks." For all the glitz though it seemed to lack some soul. I was in Rupp on Thursday for Disney on Ice. I couldn't help but look up at the banners hanging in the rafters. You can feel the tradition. I get excited thinking about all of the amazing moments that have happened there and the even more amazing ones to come. No matter what is eventually decided, in the end it is the Big Blue Nation that is the heart and soul of Rupp. Without that collective heartbeat, it is just a building, no matter how big and shiny you make it.

The Kings picked up a convincing win and DeMarcus had a nice night, but I have to admit it seemed to pale in comparison to the Cats taking down the #1 team in the nation a short while later. There is just nothing greater than college basketball during March Madness! Sorry DeMarcus. =)

Nothing gets me out of a winter funk quicker than the first baseball game of the season. Yesterday was the home opener for Kentucky Baseball at Cliff Hagan Stadium. It was a bit chilly at 52 degrees, but the sun was shining and the Cats came ready to play. Former Trinity star and Louisville Slugger Player of the Year Corey Littrell wowed the crowd in his first collegiate start, taking a no-hitter into the 7th inning. The Cats went on to win 5-2. It was good to be hanging out at the Cliff again, experiencing the sights and sounds of baseball. Can't wait to see where the season leads. Go Cats!

Free Enes

If you are from Kentucky, you probably know who Enes Kanter is. The freshman from Turkey and top recruit was declared permanently ineligible by the NCAA recently. Kentucky appealed the decision and the appeal apparently took place on Wednesday. If my twitter feed is any indication, the entire BBN and beyond went on Enes watch as news spread that a final ruling could come before the weekend. ETA: "Free Enes Friday" came and went. News followed that in light of the recent ruling on Cam Newton, UK would submit new information on the Kanter decision. Since new information cannot be submitted to the appeal board, the entire case would essentially start over and head back to the NCAA reinstatement staff.

If you have been around campus or to a game recently, you have more than likely noticed Enes. At 6'11", he is virtually impossible to miss. I first caught a glimpse of him at Big Blue Madness. His surprise entrance as "The UnderKanter" had the Big Blue Nation rocking Rupp to its rafters.

Seeing Enes being forced to watch his teammates play from the bench was a disheartening sight. You couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid who wants nothing more than to play basketball as a Wildcat.

Enes acknowledges the faithful chanting "Free Enes" as he leaves the floor.

From the moment "Free Enes" was written on a fan blog, a phenomenon was born. From shirts to signs and even a song, there was no escaping the new Kentucky rally cry.

I next saw Enes at the Blue and White Game at Rupp Arena, once again forced to support his teammates from the bench. He was a little more animated in this appearance, smiling at times and wearing his Undertaker t-shirt in keeping with his new nickname, "The UnderKanter."

My next Enes sighting was at the UK Hoops season opener against Morehead State. It struck me just how much of a typical student he has become-from attending classes to casually taking in a game with friends. He has some tough decisions to make if the appeal is not successful. I am sure it will be a real heartbreak for everyone, especially for Enes, if he leaves campus.

So as the Big Blue Nation prays for an early Christmas present, the NCAA deliberates and a young man's future hangs in the balance.

UK Hoops vs. Morehead St.

UK Hoops defeated a tough Morehead State team in the season opener 82-48. A crowd of 6793 was on hand to witness the victory, including 2000+ 6th grade students from Fayette Co. Public Schools. A field trip to a basketball game? Only in Kentucky! #WeAreUK

One of the highlights of the game was definitely the wardrobe of the Morehead St. coaching staff. I can't decide if these are the most awesome things I have ever seen, or the most repulsive!

Ummm...the Norwegian Curling Team called, they want their pants back. :D

On a more somber note, Keyla Snowden took a hard fall and appeared to have a pretty serious knee injury.

What can't UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell do? He can carry a tune with that southern drawl. He can dance as he proved when he hit the Dougie at Big Blue Madness. He also won a little award called SEC Coach of the Year. He seems too good to be true. We'll have to ask his wife Jenna if he puts his socks in the hamper. :)

Coach Mitchell was all business at Memorial Coliseum on Sunday. The Lady Cats put on a show in their exhibition game against KWC. This was my first UK Hoops game. I was excited to see Keyla Snowden, since I have been following her on twitter for awhile now and was waiting for a chance to catch her in action. The Lady Cats are ranked 9th in pre-season poles. If their 99-55 victory over KWC is any indication, it looks like it will be an exciting season for the UK women's basketball program.

I also had a chance to catch up with The Kentucky Spidermen. They are becoming quite a phenomenon and were kind enough to take a pic. with my favorite little true blue Wildcat.

"Can You Hear Us Now?" is the team's rally cry this year. I think we are all getting the message loud and clear. Best of luck ladies!

Soccer-Kentucky vs. Memphis

I don't pretend to know much about soccer. I have been to a couple of UK games this season and I guess it must grow on you gradually. These guys play hard and if the Memphis game is any indication, they take a beating physically. I respect the passion they play with and enjoy supporting all our Wildcats, even if I am not really a fan of the sport.

That being said, the photo ops. are great! I haven't quite developed a sense for the timing of soccer, but I am working on it. Here are a few of my favorites from the Memphis game. The game seemed pretty brutal with several injuries and even a fight. Don't think there was any love lost between these two teams!

This one reminded me of one those slow motion fight scenes in The Matrix. :)

Big Blue Madness 2010

I attended my first Big Blue Madness over the weekend. For those of you not from Kentucky, it is hard to describe the level of intensity fans feel for college basketball here. They eat, sleep and breathe it. Fans camped out for days to get tickets to see the newest Wildcats hold their first public practice. More than 525 tents wrapped around Memorial Coliseum before the ticket distribution.

More than 22,000 tickets sold out in less than an hour...for a practice! Big Blue Madness has been described as a potpourri of sensory overload. This year's event was no exception and featured fireworks, the UK Cheerleaders, Dance Team, Mascots, Band and Drum Line. UK Hoops (the women's basketball team) added some fun with a crowd chant and Coach Matthew Mitchell doing the Dougie.

The players were introduced with plumes of smoke and videos and danced down the ramp to the court to music spun by Washington Wizards DJ Big Tigger. The place exploded as last year's Draft Cats appeared in video messages to the Big Blue Nation. Madness literally rocked Rupp Arena up to the rafters with every seat being filled all the way to the top. The roar of 22,000+ and the adrenaline flowing in that arena is something I will not soon forget. As the 2011 recruits were being escorted to their seats on the floor, I wondered what they must have been thinking. I don't know if it impresses them with the grandeur of it all or if it scares the hell out of them thinking they will be there next year!

I was like a kid on Christmas Day and loved every minute of my first Madness. With any luck, I'll be back next year!

Kentucky vs. Florida State Volleyball

I shot my first volleyball match on Friday night. I had heard good things about the 16th ranked UK Volleyball team, but had never been to a volleyball match before. Their first game against Louisville drew a rowdy crowd of over 2000 people. I ventured down to Memorial Coliseum to see what all the excitement was about. I have to say, these women go hard! I was very surprised at how exciting it was. I had read a quote from one of the coaches I believe that said if you come to one match, you'll be back. After watching my first match, I know it won't be my last. These ladies are true athletes-diving, rolling and jumping around all over the place! The atmosphere is also pretty electric.

I found out quickly that the challenge was going to be keeping up with the action. Having never been to a match, I had to learn to anticipate the movements which are very fast. I was getting a feel for it by the end of the match. White balance is also a big issue in Memorial Coliseum. Not sure I ever really got it right. I was definitely out of my comfort zone, but had a good time trying!

My Summer School

It has been a busy summer in what I refer to as my "Sports Photography Immersion Program." ;) I thought I would share a few slideshows from some recent events. After much consideration, I decided to upgrade my Pentax K100D camera to the K20D. I got it yesterday and I think I'm in love ♥. It should make next season a whole lot less frustrating!

The Lexington Hustlers season wrapped up with the final game against the Southern Ohio Copperheads. The guys battled injuries and a grueling schedule, but never gave up. So proud of my "boys of summer." :)

I also had a chance to make it up to the Bengals Training Camp in Georgetown, KY to see the TO and Ocho show. ;D I still have hundreds of shots to sort through, but I managed to get a few posted-mostly of a shirtless TO. I kept getting so distracted. ha I guess now I know why most sports photographers are male.

This weekend was UK Football Fan Day. We were treated to a full open practice and autograph session. I also got a priceless memory of sitting on the field at Commonwealth Stadium and watching the fireworks display. I had never been on the field before so it was a great experience!

Lexington Hustlers Baseball

We have a new collegiate summer baseball team in town called the Lexington Hustlers. I have been working on my sports shots this summer. It is definitely a learning process for me and a challenge with my lenses, but I am beginning to get a feel for it.

Kentucky sweeps LSU

I've been shooting a lot of sports lately. It is definitely a learning experience for me, but I am finding I love combining my two favorite past times-photography and sports!

I watched some amazing baseball this weekend. I went to two Kentucky baseball games and my son had a winning t-ball game to remain undefeated. ;) The Kentucky Wildcats needed a big series to help them try to secure a spot in the SEC Tournament. They had an incredible weekend and ended up sweeping the defending champions, the LSU Tigers. And they did it in dramatic fashion.

Game 1 was won on Lance Ray's monster three run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Here are some images from that game. You couldn't have asked for more beautiful baseball weather, complete with a nice sunset over Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't as cooperative for Game 3. A light rain fell during the entire 3 hrs and 33 minutes of the game. I don't think any Kentucky fans left though even with a rocky start and the Cats falling behind early. In his last home at bat, senior catcher Marcus Nidiffer blasted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the 8th on a full count. It was sick! I think they will be talking about that one around here for years to come!

It was the first time since 1991 that the Cats swept LSU and only the second time in program history. Go Big Blue!

Switching gears...a little baseball action. University of Kentucky Wildcats vs. the Florida Gators. My husband's friend has a son on the Florida baseball team so we headed down to Cliff Hagan Stadium when he was in town playing the Wildcats.

I have some good friends who have played with a local cover band over the years. This band has gone through numerous reincarnations over more than 2 decades. There was a little reunion this weekend in Cincinnati at the UK Tailgate Party at Jefferson Hall in Newport. Not my usual stuff, but I thought I would share a few pics.

These two random Cats fans saw a chick with a camera and asked me to take their picture. I told them I would make them famous and they would end up on the blog so here you go boys. ha

John Paul celebrated his 6th birthday at Applebee's Park on Legends Superheroes Night. I am convinced that Applebee's Park is one of the best places to see sunsets in Lexington. We seem to get lucky and have the most amazing sunsets every time we go.

Next time I'm hiking out to the bleachers to get a better view

A Beautiful Night For Baseball

My daughter Alison had the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the Lexington Legends game last evening. I was so proud of her. She sang like an angel. I know I would never be able to get in front of a stadium full of people and sing like that. Well maybe I would, (after a couple of drinks) but I can't imagine anyone would want to hear it. =P

I tried my hand at a little baseball action. I didn't take my 2.8 along so it got pretty tough as the evening went on, but I tried. =)

My son Jake somehow managed to catch not 1, not 2, but 3 balls last night, including a homerun off the bat of this guy, Ebert Rosario. The Legends went on to win the game, sweep the series and remain in first place in the South Atlantic League Southern Division. Go Legends!

Cincinnati Snapshots

We went up to Cincinnati to take in a Reds game on Friday. They had a fireworks display after the game. The second shot was taken from the John Roebling bridge as we walked over the river.

A little game action. The Reds won thanks in part to a Grand Slam home run by Encarnacion that hit off the back of the empty seat right in front of my son! Unfortunately it bounced back on the field. =(

Hello. I am an amateur photographer and sports junkie living in central Kentucky. I have always loved taking photos. I shot film with my EOS Rebel Ti. I went digital with an Olympus C-4000. I now shoot with a Pentax K20D. I became very active on the 2Peas photography board a few years ago and my passion for photography took off. I got inspired to try my hand at macros and now I am completely hooked. After numerous requests, I opened an Etsy shop and offer some of my nature-inspired prints.

I love sharing my images with others. My photo "Springtime" was selected as a Betterphoto First Place winner out of more than 23,000 images. I have a photo featured in the 2008 WTVQ Photo Friday Calendar for the month of April. My work was chosen for exhibition at the Arts De' Vine Art Show at Talon Winery and Vineyards. I have had numerous Betterphoto Editor's Picks and several contest Finalists. I have been published in The Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper on several occasions. My sports images have been used by the Lexington Hustlers and Kentucky Sports Radio.
